If you are using Mac OS X Mail to manage e-mail, whitelist a sender’s e-mail address by doing one of the following:
- If the email is marked as Junk, right-click on our email and choose ‘Mark > As Not Junk Mail”
- Select Mail / Preferences from the menu in Mail.
- Go to the Rules tab.
- Select Add Rule.
- Give this rule a name, something like “My Favourite Cousin In The Whole Wide World”
- Make the criterion read:
- If ‘any’ of the following conditions are met: ‘From’ ‘Contains’
- Insert the email address you want to whitelist
- From the actions, select ‘Move message’ to mailbox ‘Inbox’.
- Close the dialog with OK
NOTE for Mac OS X Mail users: In many cases, e-mail may be getting blocked by your internet service provider before it reaches your computer. Make sure you take whatever steps necessary to whitelist the sender with your Internet Service Provider.
